The Ocean Tech Hub (OTC) of Southern New England selected as one of 31 Tech Hubs

Here we go!  The Ocean Tech Hub (OTC) of Southern New England led by RI Commerce has been selected by the Biden Administration as one of 31 Tech Hubs across the country that will receive federal investments to bring the benefits and opportunities of scientific and technological innovation to all communities and all workers.   A Tech Hubs designation is widely recognized as an indicator of a region’s potential for rapid technology-led economic growth.

The Tech Hubs program, created as part of the CHIPS and Science Act of 2022, invests directly in high potential US regions and aims to transform them into globally competitive innovation centers.  These investments will further position U.S. businesses and workers to outcompete the world in the economy of tomorrow and strengthen our national and economic security.

The OTC aims to develop, test, and commercialize emerging maritime artificial intelligence and machine learning-enabled robotics and sensors.  Learn more about the OTC at growblue.org.
